Canadian Medical Discoveries Fund Inc. (CMDF) is a venture capital investment fund that focuses exclusively on the thriving health science sector. Established in 1994, CMDF is Canada's most mature health sciences Labour Sponsored Investment Fund (LSIF) with approximately $130 million in managed assets.

The management team has been extremely active in the strategic restructuring of the portfolio to minimize exposure to early stage investments and refocus the portfolio on later stage businesses. With the objective of reducing investment risk and accelerating positive performance, the portfolio has been refined from over 60 investments in early 2006 to approximately 35 investments in 2007.

The Manager believes that the revamped CMDF portfolio and investment strategy strongly position the Fund to generate positive returns in the coming months and years.

CMDF is registered as labour-sponsored investment fund corporation, sponsored by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, a national union representing scientific and professional employees in the federal, New Brunswick and Manitoba public services.
